Cascada Del Xiblu (Xiblu waterfall route)

Este domingo hicimos la ruta de la Cascada de Xiblu en Teverga, perteneciente al Parque Natural de las Ubiñas - La Mesa

La ruta es lineal y está muy bien señalizada, parando a hacer fotos y a comer la hicimos en unas 3 horas (son aprox 8.5 km).

Salimos desde Oviedo en dirección Trubia (A-66), atravesamos Trubia y nos desviamos después del puente a la izquierda dirección Proaza y Teverga (AS-228). En Teverga llegamos a una rotonda y tomamos la salida a Puerto Ventana. A continuación tomamos la desviación a la derecha para seguir en dirección a Puerto Ventana. Pasamos el Parque de la prehistoria y el pueblo de Páramo y continuamos por la carretera  As-228 hasta el Km 42, donde veremos el aparcamiento para dejar el coche y varios paneles informativos de la ruta, la flora y la fauna.

Continuamos y vemos el principio de la ruta, que dispone de 500 m de sendero accesible.

Caminamos una hora - hora y media por un camino fácil, apto para niños/as y bicicletas, atravesando el Hayedo de Montegrande, pasamos la señal indicativa de la fuente Las Vallinas (nosotros decidimos no bajar) y continuamos hasta cruzar el río.

Aquí es donde la ruta se complica, pues queda 1 km de ascensión por un camino de piedras irregulares y resbaladizas para llegar a la cascada (Aunque podemos seguir por un camino fácil hacia la Braña las Navariegas).

La Cascada de Xiblu recibe este nombre por el ruido que hace cuando sopla el viento, similar a un silbido. Consta de tres tramos que suman unos 100 m de caída.

Nosotros nos conseguimos acercar hasta el punto en el que termina el primer tramo, es impresionante la sensación pero os recomiendo acercaros sólo si vais preparados/as, es un terreno resbaladizo y hay que tener mucho cuidado.

This Sunday we made the Xiblu Waterfall route in Teverga, Natural Park of the Ubiñas - La Mesa

The route is linear and is very well signposted, stopping to take pictures and to eat we spent about 3 hours (approximately 8.5 km).

We leave from Oviedo to Trubia (A-66), passed Trubia and turn right after the bridge to Proaza and Teverga (AS-228). At Teverga we arrive at a roundabout and take the exit to Puerto Ventana. Turn right to continue in the direction of Puerto Ventana. Pass the Prehistoric Park and the village of Páramo and continue along the As-228 road until Km 42, where you will see the car park to leave the car and several information panels of the route.

Continue walking to see the beginning of the route, which has 500 m of accessible trail.

We walked an hour by an easy path, suitable for children, bicycles, going through the Beech forest of Montegrande, we passed the sign to Las Vallinas fountain (we decided not to go down) and continue until crossing the river.

Here is where the route is more complicated, the last km ascending a path of irregular and slippery stones to reach the waterfall (However, you can follow an easy path to <<Braña las Navariegas>>).

The Xiblu Waterfall is named because of the noise it makes when the wind blows, similar to a whistle. It has three sections that make about 100 m of fall.

We get closer to the point where the first section finish, it is impressive the feeling but I recommend to approach only if you are well prepared, it is a slippery terrain and you have to be very careful.
